Gatherby is made and operated by STUDIOKJ, LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an
account or using Gatherby you agree to these terms.
Using Gatherby
- You're responsible for your household account and the people you invite to it.
- Use Gatherby lawfully and don't misuse or attempt to disrupt the service.
- Content you add belongs to you; you grant us permission to store and display it to run the app for your household.
Sharing and Discover
If you share or post to Discover, keep it kind and lawful. There is no tolerance for objectionable
content or abusive behavior: no harassment, hate, sexual content, or anything illegal. You can report
a post or a household and block anyone from within the app. We review every report within 24 hours,
remove content that breaks these rules, and may suspend or remove accounts responsible.
Free trial & subscriptions
- Free trial. A new household gets a 30-day free trial with every feature unlocked.
No payment details are needed to start. If you subscribe during the trial, billing starts that day.
- After the trial. If the household hasn't subscribed when the trial ends, its account
becomes read-only: everything you saved stays available to view, but you can't add or change
anything until someone in the household subscribes.
- Automatic details. Your household has a monthly allowance for automatic details, such as book authors and restaurant addresses. If you reach it, you can still add items. Missing details fill in after the allowance resets at the start of each month.
- Plans and prices. Gatherby is billed monthly or yearly, and the optional Wines add-on monthly, at
the prices shown when you subscribe (in US dollars). Taxes may be added where required.
- Where you pay. You subscribe in the Gatherby iPhone app, and Apple bills your Apple
Account. One subscription unlocks the whole household, on every device.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until
cancelled. Apple charges your Apple Account for each renewal unless you cancel at least 24 hours
before the period ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone: Settings, your name,
Subscriptions). Refund requests go to Apple.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
We don't refund partial periods, except where the law requires it.
- Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we'll tell you at least 30 days
before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see or store
your card number.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account). If you are the head
of household, this deletes the entire household and all of its data for every member. Otherwise it deletes your own account and personal data, and your household
keeps what you shared with it. Deletion can't be undone.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription bought through Apple. To stop being billed,
cancel it in your Apple Account before or after you delete.
Messaging
Gatherby sends transactional email (and, where you opt in, text messages) related to your
household's activity. You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time. Standard message
and data rates may apply to any texts.
Affiliate links
Some links in Gatherby are affiliate links: "Find on Amazon" on shopping lists and Kindle
links on reading lists, Bookshop.org links on reading lists, "Find on Wine.com" on wine lists. As an Amazon Associate, Gatherby earns from qualifying purchases, and
we may also earn a commission from Bookshop.org and Wine.com. It costs you nothing extra and never changes which products we show.
Availability
We aim to keep Gatherby running reliably but don't guarantee uninterrupted
service. We may change or discontinue features.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Gatherby is provided without warranties and our liability is
limited. Don't rely on Gatherby as the sole record of anything critical.
